Brennon finally got to bust out his birthday kayak!  It was fun to meet up with the Burch's for a morning of river time... and then pool time... and then s'mores time later in the day!  For a day that started with no plans, we sure know how to fill it with spontaneous fun as the day evolves:)

I wish I would have thought to take pictures of Mira retrieving the ball.  She was SO tentative the first time out, almost as if she was sneaking up on the ball-- it was so cute.  After she came back to "shore" (the river is more full than some have seen for 12 years at least, so there really wasn't much of the shore we're used to) and shook off, she was seriously adorable in her NEED to have someone throw the ball in the water.  I guess you could say, of my lack of pictures, "I was living in the moment."

Our pool opened this weekend, so of course we had to go!  The kids passed the swim test, with Tyson surprising me by his speed swimming.  My goodness, I was stunned by how well he can swim, since he hasn't had a single swim lesson in his life.  It's weird that I want him to have lessons now so he can learn how to turn his head to breath, since he clearly already knows how to swim.  The boy has so many natural athletic talents!

While at the pool, Randy said we should invite friends over to roast mallows, so we invited the Burch's, Elison's, and Crosier's.  The wind picked up like an hour before we started, so it wasn't as fun as I would have liked, but the kids had a blast!  13 kids, ranging from 13 down to 2, all running, tagging, jumping, roasting, and nibbling.  It was a great night.  I had to laugh because it was actually a chilly night-- one perfect for the hot tub party the kids had the night before:) 

It was also really cool because Keilie got to experience a First-- she was asked to babysit two nights in a row!  Friday night was her fourth time babysitting for the Gibb family.  When Jill picked Keilie up, she told me that her kids balk at other babysitters, but that Keilie is known as "the fun babysitter."  My mommy heart burned with pride.  Saturday night was her first night babysitting for the Taylor family.  Jamie told me that it was at her recommendation, which made my heart burn with pride again after hearing it was possibly the Taylor's first time ever getting a babysitter that wasn't a grandparent!  WOW!!!

Tyson's prayer on Saturday night: "Heavenly Father, we're thankful for the fun that we had today.  Please bless that we can have similar fun on Monday, since we don't have school on that day either.  Amen."
