While Keilie was babysitting on Friday night, we decided to let the younger three have a little hot tub party. Nothing too big, just a few friends over for an hour and a half of soaking, singing, and socializing. It struck me that in just a few years these kids will probably be making plans themselves for parties like this one, without me texting moms to ask if their kids could come "play." They'll also have a later start time, since they'll have later bedtimes, which is something I'm sure would have made this party a bit more fun seeing as it was 90 degrees outside and 101 degrees inside. Their cheeks were
flame red when I took out the drinks and snacks. The party ended as it was starting to actually cool down to a temperature more conducive to partying in the hot tub. Hot, but still a ton of fun!
It feels weird, in a way, that the kids are growing up and maturing (didn't time stop in 2014 on that fateful ER morning?!). Caden would have been a Senior next year (My goodness, we would have had a graduate next year!), Keilie will be starting Driver's Ed (dating in 15 months, can you believe it?!), Shelby is entering Middle School in August and Young Women's in January, Brennon will be in his last year of Elementary, and Tyson is starting the Hi-cap program. Life just keeps zooming!
Experiencing our children growing up is a beautiful blessing. I'm the luckiest girl in the world!
That is roasting me just thinking about being a hot tub in that kind of weather. And I love being hot!
