Healthy Heart

When Brennon went in for his 5 year old Well Child Checkup and Kindergarten boosters, Dr. B. found a heart murmur that worried him.  He said it sounded like a high pitch twang that was louder when he was laying down (which we actually found out was a good sign.)  He sent us to a specialist to check it out.  Today we had the appointment.
After 20 minutes waiting in the lobby, they took us back and hooked him up to an ECG for 10 seconds.  He giggled while she placed all of the stickers and then got to take them all off by himself.  She was cute to say that he had to find all of them that she'd hidden.  She was super fun with him.  He looked at her with his adoring face and eyes.  I love that little boy!!!
I wasn't surprised in the least when he placed them back on the sheet in perfect order.  The funny thing is that he hadn't seen the sheet in the first place.  He just likes order and symmetry.  Like his mom!  We waited in the room for another hour.  The Dr. was super nice, checked him over thoroughly and found him to have an "normal" heart murmur.  Because of the muscles around his heart being almost a net like fiber, he said sometimes when the blood goes through, it's almost like pulling a bow across the violin strings.  His is just louder than some.  He has a good heart.  Both literally and figuratively.  Yesterday while we were driving with my mom, Brennon piped up from the back seat, "Grandma.  You're pretty!"  Such a sweet, complimentary, good boy!!!  Glad to know he's still as healthy as ever!

  1. Wow, I had no idea! Glad everything is good. I had a heart murmur when I was younger. Either it went away after I got married or the doctor who last checked it just couldn't hear it. :) Hope you're having fun with your mom and dad there.
