When we were accepted into The Study, they asked us the last day that he'd taken a chemo pill. I told them that he had taken one the night before we found out the news, so that was the 4th of April. They logged it, telling us that they would find out the exact date that he could begin. I was certain it was going to be the 19th, since that was two weeks since the first day he was without chemo in his system. My reasoning was that he'd taken a pill on a Tuesday, so Wednesday was the first day off the pill, putting two weeks on a Wednesday. So, when they called me on the 17th saying we were going to start on the morning of Tuesday, the 18th, it was kind of a scramble. The Study's interpretation was this: His last pill was the fourth, add fourteen days, he'll begin on the 18th. Two different interpretations of two weeks.
Because of these two different views of time, I have asked for a specific day that we'll be released from our one month, 1-hour radius leash. Some would view one month as 4 weeks. Since today is considered week 3 (Week one was day 1, week two was day 8, week three is today), week 4 could be when we get to go home, making it next week, May 9th. Others would view one month as 30 days. If this was the case, we'd be released in two weeks. One would get us home before Caden's birthday, the other would get us home just after. I know you can guess what my preference would be. She said she'd find out for me today. I have asked her each time she's come in to check on Caden if she'd found out the news. I won't rest until I know when we can go home. It will make it easier mentally knowing the countdown days we have left. I'm hoping for seven days!!!
