Mutiny

These five kids

and I mutinied against Father Time, refusing to follow the norm in preparing for school. We drove 1.5 hours to a water park in Moses Lake, and drowned our upcoming school jitters in sparkling water. 

For the record-- all of my kids tried the FlowRider body boarding. However, it seemed more amazing to watch Tyson do it again and again. Then he walked with Caden to the high dive and jumped in right after him. A yelp escaped my throat watching Caden jump off (he didn't just fall off, he jumped high three times and then propelled off it!) but my throat closed off completely as Tyson walked to the board's edge. That kid has NO FEAR!! 

I'm sad for summer to come to a close. I'm gonna miss doing fun things with my kids all day, every day. Yet, I know how good it is for them to go back to school. They all love to learn. They all get a new challenge this year, as all five go to new schools. Watch out world, the Dirks kids are ready to make new friends!
