Aside from running the 1/2 marathon road, Randy had one other request: Go to Lake Powell. The kids weren't super excited about it (5-hour round-trip drive after days and days of driving), but they went along because they knew how much it meant to Randy. Because of the wind, we didn't stay as long as we would have liked (honestly, it was so windy it literally sand-blasted your skin and stung), but we're so glad we went-- It was STUNNING!
I love the difference you can find in Southern Utah. There are red, brown, white, and black mountains, there are green spots and baren spots depending on where you look. It truly is the most beautiful place!! Maybe one day we'll make it back to Lake Powell with our boat. Hearing Randy's stories about how much fun it was growing up, I want to experience it for myself one day.
