Midnight?

We rang in the New Year with the kids to New York's ball drop.  9:00pm is pretty much perfect when you have littles.  There will be a time when we all stay up till Midnight, but that won't be for a few years, until they aren't beasts the next day.  The ball dropped, we did some screaming and cheering and more screaming, and then Brennon asked, "Mom, do we get to stay up until Midnight?"  Since 9:00pm is their regular weekend bedtime, I thought I was mega generous allowing them to stay up another 30 minutes.

"No, but I'll let you stay up until 9:30pm tonight, to celebrate."

(Three minutes later) "Mom, will you put me to bed?"

So I did.  I smiled as I walked up the stairs behind him.  Why ask if you "get" to stay up until Midnight if you're ready for bed at 9:00pm?

Since Keilie rang in the New Year at a dance on Saturday night with friends, we asked her to be our babysitter while we rang in the New Year with Jamie, Cameron, and Jamie's Dad, playing games.  We had a fun time playing:

Exploding Kittens (even though I was first to lose the first two times we played)
*Bang!: The Dice Game  {Thank you, Nate and Rebecca, for this game!}
Fluxx (it was way too late in the night to learn how to play this game)
*Code Names Pictures
*New Games we got this season, along with Lunacy and Mexican Train

Brennon's sleep tracker: 9:10pm- 8:15am
Stephanie's sleep tracker:  2:20am-7:15am

I'd be jealous of Brennon, but I'm too tired.
