Sew Cute!!!

The second Ashlee arrived, I made them get back into the car to go to Jamie's to pick out fabric for a project I wanted to do.  The girls LOVED picking out their own fabric, as I knew they would.

Today, we got to make them!

The room looks so bare here and looks completely transformed after Jamie's recent project of painting, adding board and batten and decorative wallpaper, but the main view of the girls at differing parts of their projects just makes me happy.
Look at those smiles!!  I had to giggle at Austen and Daphnee.  You'd have thought I asked Austen to rub up against a cactus and Daphnee touch molten lava, their reactions to "Move in closer," was met with such disgust.  Note to self, be ok with a gap in girls...  Cuties.

Since McKaylee and Tyson are so close and Shelby and Daphnee are so close, I decided to take Austen to Joanne Fabric to pick out her own fabric for a project at home.  I love that she opened up to me more without anyone else around.  She's so quiet, always letting others do the talking and hog the spotlight, that it was just fun to hear her voice and stories.

Everly sums up my response to how well Austen sews!  Everly just stood there for a full two minutes, staring at her sewing, with a look of, "How the heck can you do that?" on her face.
I showed her how to do something, just a little bit, and then handed it over to her with instructions to ask if she needed anything.  She never asked.  And she did this all by herself.  At 10-years of age.
Look at how perfect that applique is!!  The girl has MAD SKILLS!!!
Jamie has offered to do a whole week-long class for the girls in the summer.  I doubt this girl will need much help, she's a natural.

Don't my my runners' hair.  I'm happy to report that I got a PR today!!
