Technology

In the KidZone area of McDonald's this morning, I sat behind a deaf man signing. However, there was no one sitting in the seat in front of him. He was having a "conversation" with someone on his Smartphone. How amazing it is to me that because of the amazing technology advancements of this day and age, a man that has had such limited ability to converse, unless face-to-face, can now catch-up with someone in a different place.

Or that our family and friends can know my kids better because of a blog. That my kids' grandparents can giggle at their antics, remembering when Randy and I were just like them.

Or the fact that thousands have read my words without ever publishing a book. And that at this minute, I can blog on the open road without the need of WiFi.

I realize that the internet has the potential to do much harm, but how grateful I am to live in this time. My life is made better because of technology.

Also, as I ride in a car going 80 MPH to spend time with family celebrating the 80th birthday of Randy's Grandma, I'm grateful for motor vehicles. A/C, comfortable seats, windshield, and a protective roof that makes the rain falling with sounds like hail seem like nothing.

I'm the luckiest girl in the world!
