Brian Regan

We got a call today saying we had a package waiting for us at the 7th floor Cancer desk. We got in to Seattle at around 8:30 and headed straight to the hospital. I'm so glad it was only to pick up that box. After we got back the RMH, I was even happier to have grabbed it!!! I'm not sure who to thank, but Wowwy-wow-wow it's THE BEST GIFT!!!  Caden got a box FULL of gifts from his idol- BRIAN REGAN!!!
Caden has been watching YouTube videos of Brian's for over a year now. After just one video, he had Randy hooked. As soon as we found out that Brian was coming to Kennewick I knew what I would be getting Caden for Christmas. We kept the secret, played down his coming, and got to give him his secret tickets Christmas morning. We've been counting down ever since. And then Cancer happened. Our first worry-after the good prognosis- was whether he would be able to go.
We were considering selling the tickets, but couldn't bring ourselves to break the news to Caden. If all goes well, we'll figure out a way to make it work, but if not (he knows it's a possibility) this box made everything better. He got a hoodie, T-shirt, 2 comedy DVD's, a Sports flag, computer mouse pad, and...a SIGNED picture just for Caden!! As in Brian Regan actually TOUCHED it!!! We just sat a gaped at his gift. One of his favorite people in the world sent him a Get Well Soon gift. THANK YOU to whomever sent word to Brian!! Thank you so much. Caden was giddy!!! Just what he needed to start Round Two on Friday!!!

When Caden first went into the ER, they started explaining the "Pain Scale." Brian has a joke about his own pain scale. He goes into the ER with a stomach ache and claims his pain is an eight. Then he worries himself by wondering if an eight is too high. It's seriously funny. Then Caden finds himself in the ER with a "stomach ache" and gets asked what his pain is on a scale from 1-10. He looks at me and says, "Seven?" He didn't want to say eight because of the funny video. His pain became an eight when we said it was OK to have pain that severe, but he was thinking of Brian in the ER while he was in severe pain. And I had to smile:) For a moment in all of this DRAMA, Brian Regan made us smile! And with this box, he's made Caden smile again!! BEST comedian EVER!!!

Again, THANK YOU!!!

  1. What a great surprise! Now you HAVE to go see him. It will happen- just keep saying that over and over again.
