Early Birthday

I'm happy to say that this is the first year I have actually liked Brennon's birthday to be on Leap Day.  Since Caden begins round 2 on the 28th, the day we would normally celebrate Brennon's birthday, we decided to celebrate this Saturday.  And we've decided that since he doesn't have an actual day this year, and since we've already celebrated it, he can just go ahead and be six already- no need to wait until Friday.  We all wish to have our birthday earlier as a child.  Brennon gets his wish this year!

Happy 6th Birthday Brennon Wayne!!

 Caden was feeling a little too weak, so we joined him at the couch for the birthday pictures.

 Brennon is a very picky child.  He doesn't like many things.  In fact, he rarely likes candy, cookies, or cake.  I asked him if he wanted a cake.  Nope.  He wanted Otis Spunkmire frozen to oven cookies.  He thought he wanted Cookie Dough Ice Cream, turns out, he doesn't like anything in his ice cream.  Just plain vanilla.  So Brennon!  Not sure where this kid came from.  His parents LOVE all things sweet!

 I think this picture is just so funny.  We're singing Happy Birthday.  Look at Tyson's face!  What a goof!

 He could hardly wait to open presents.  I just love birthdays!!  Six is Supercalifradulistic!

 Tyson was so close to opening his presents.  He held back so great.  I just thought it was so cute.

I was remembering back through the years with this little boy.  He was by far my hardest baby.  I had to remind myself not to wish away his early days.  I felt like I was always wishing he'd stop crying, snuggle just a little more, start doing anything earlier, stop doing some things earlier, would learn to crawl and walk on time, and just found myself worrying too much about him.  I took a step back and just really looked at my son.  He wasn't what I had expected, but when I put those expectations aside, he was all that he was supposed to be.  I've watched him conquer his own challenges and come out swinging.  He is still so snuggly (making up for all of those crying nights/days) and is still such a tender-hearted little boy.  He is quick to tears, quick to giggles, and quick to love.  His favorite food of all time, something that he would eat for every meal and snack, is "cereal and milk."  And let me tell you, it doesn't matter what kind of cereal.  Someone mixed four different kinds of cereal recently.  Not four of the same type, but four random cereals.  It looked DISGUSTING to me.  But my little Brennon LOVES it!  In that one area he's not picky.  

My life would be void without him.  He is his own kind of glue for our family.
