Toast

I have failed as a mother.  Apparently, I have been doing my children a disservice from the very minute they could gum food!  An idea has been born into our home, one that has me thinking, "Why has this not been happening since the beginning?!"  The idea is so obvious to some, but not to me, apparently.  You'd think I was born under a rock.  OK, here it is.  Are you ready?

Toast

Tyson came home from a friends' house a few weeks ago asking if I'd make him toast with butter.  He'd had it over at Ben's and couldn't wait to have it again.  From that day, Tyson has asked for toast for every snack, even for some dinners (when I asked each of the kids what their vote for dinner the next night should be).  Randy asked him a few times if he wanted something else on it, like jam or honey, but his response was that he only like toast with butter.  And the challenge was accepted, to find something else that Tyson would like on toast.

We all know how amazing toast with cinnamon sugar is, so Randy made the mixture and made him a slice.  Let me just say, Tyson is one that will try most anything, but he'll comment if it doesn't look good.  Well, with the butter warmed on the bread with the cinnamon sugar melting into it, that bread did not look very appetizing to Tyson.  It looked furry.  Randy used the tone and got him to take a bite.  Since then, we've gone through a loaf of bread every single day, with each kid having toast at least once a day.

To give you an idea of how huge this new thing is in our home, how much this toast thing has taken over:

Brennon has not had Cereal with Milk one time this week!!!

I know.  Epic.  Unbelievable, even.  Toast.

*And lest you think we're all a bunch of sugar addicts over here, there is still a lot of just toast with butter, and Keilie's favorite, toast with strawberry jam.  It's not all cinnamon sugar furriness.*
